| Description | At the REAL80 Racing Club, we aim to run our club events in full automatic mode. Currently, one key limitation is preventing us from achieving this, and I would like to request a feature enhancement to address it.
While the existing text-to-speech functionality is helpful, it is quite limited. The available voices are unclear, and the pre-recorded messages are restrictive. In particular, driver names are often pronounced incorrectly when using the default Windows text-to-speech service. Would it be possible to integrate support for more advanced text-to-speech solutions, either through local or cloud-based AI services? This would allow text to be converted into more natural, human-like speech. Ideally, the announcements panel could send custom text to a text-to-speech API, enabling the use of higher-quality voices—either via cloud services or locally hosted solutions. I’m a big fan of MyRCM, and this feature would make it even more powerful. I believe it would also be highly valuable for other clubs. With improved automation, the timekeeper could participate in racing as well, which is currently difficult. |

For local TTS, I’ve also looked into Kokoro. However, hosting and maintaining containers requires a bit more work, and at the moment I believe Deepgram Aura is the better option. Of course, if you have other suggestions or would like to discuss the possibilities further, I’d be happy to have a conversation. |
